My sister Ashley apparently laughs out loud at work (a NY hospital surgical wing – the smarty’s a surgeon) every time she reads my posts. Although I am having a nightmare of a day, I want to amuse her some more. So, excuse this fluff of a post. Ashley – here’s what I’m doing today. I hope my life provides a good laugh.
I woke at 6 am to feed annoying cats who started chewing the mail, started cooking a huge beef stew (did I mention I still don’t have a gas for the stove), got it in the oven after 2 hours, went to yoga, worked for two hours after, and I’m now going to run out of the house for a 4-hour wine tasting, rush back to host a dinner party (that’s what the stew was for), and I’ve left my poor poor younger sister (the other one) to cook all veg dishes as well as a homemade mac & cheese, something I adore doing, but I can’t because I’ll be at the wine tasting when I should be cooking. The dear ran across town to borrow a hot plate from the friends that are actually coming to dinner tonight. Did I mention it’s a special birthday AND going away dinner? I’ll be working all day tomorrow (another wine tasting – at a MALL – and then doing tons of internet work) and Saturday. So, this is a nightmare. Nightmare. Surprisingly, I’m hanging on.
Should I have vented? The jury’s out. I love you Ashley.
